Our Mission

Our goal is to guide today’s youth in a positive direction while promoting fun and safe youth football and cheer practices throughout Illinois. Youth Football and Cheer enables young athletes to excel in athletics while encouraging the value of scholastics, sportsmanship, and competition in a safe and structured environment.


Our Vision

NIUYFL'S vision is to provide quality football and cheer, while being a pillar in the state of Illinois youth football. 

NIUYFL will provide:

Structure  •Standardized Football & Cheer Rules  •Scholastic Excellence Program  • Conference Championship

NIUYFL will provide Local/Regional Cheer Competition and National Championships in Football and Cheer.

LEVELS OF PLAY

NIUYFL is split into 2 levels of play.  The NFC and the AFC.  These levels will be locked in for a minimum of 5 years starting in the 2021 Season. 

AFC

DIVISION AGE (AS OF JULY 31st) MAX STRIPPED WEIGHT
8/9 8 & 9 and Under 120 + Stripers
10/11 10 & 11 and Under 140 + Stripers
12/13 12 & 13 and Under 160 + Stripers

UYF Program Statement

United Youth Football League (YFL) established its rules and operational procedures to ensure that every child who wishes to participate, regardless of size, financial means, race, creed or national origin, is included in a safe and fair environment where their best interests and education are put first.  YFL will establish 2 conferences. The NFC and AFC. The AFC will be for second teams at age groups from the NFC and smaller organizations.
